There is like 14 days before Christmas and I know some of you have left gift shopping for last minute – something that I just can’t do. So to help all the last minute bunnies I asked some of my favourite local brands to let me know what they have for under R200 that would make a great gift.

First up I have some lovely gifts from Rain starting from R45! The best way to shop from Rain is to go in store, because it’ll be like a mini vacation for your senses plus you don’t have to stress about delayed deliveries just before Christmas due to bad weather (it happens, OK). The best thing is, you probably won’t even have to wrap it, because you’ll get it in their nice packaging – just add a tag or card.

Waterlily fizz ball: R45
We can all do with something to help us get into the relaxed holiday mode and there is nothing like a fizz ball. You can watch it dissolve and then soak in the glorious scented water for hours. Spoil someone with one of these.

Cleopatra Gold and milk butter ball: R75
Imagine being Cleopatra and getting a butterball with gold leaf… Soak in luxurious rice and coconut milk with added nourishing shea butter by candlelight. Now, just to be safe buy for yourself and quickly wrap the gift intended for your favourite friend/sister/cousin.

3 Wedge soaps on a bamboo mat: R158
Know someone with sensitive skin? This is the perfect gift for them. The natural glycerine soaps have a mixture of essential oils and come in wild cotton, peppermint & eucalyptus, and waterblommetjie on their own little bamboo mat. So it is basically a gift with 4 pieces.

Savannah body dusting powder with bulu brush: R189
This is one of my favourites… it reminds me of my grandmother that used to douse herself in talc powder – but it just smells better than what she used to use. This is a little linen bag with feather bulu brush and talc powder that can be used to dust in the areas where moisture linger after a bath or shower. The fragrance of this is beautiful.

Votive candles: R195
I love candles and have quite a selection that will set the mood for just about any occasion. I like it even more when they come in their own little clear glass vase. If you haven’t been to Rain yet, their votive candles are made from natural vegetable wax – making it the perfect gift even for that vegan friend you never quite know what to buy.

Let me know what you love from Rain and if you got to do some last minute shopping in one of their delicious stores.

I absolutely hate buying prezzies for my hubby. It is painful and difficult – and nobody should have to go through it without some help.

If he is a gamer…

My husband, all his guys from work, his friends and his brother have all been playing RUST almost every night for more than a month. The game must be good if so many men would rather spend time on their PCs. I’m not going to pretend I know all about the game, but you can read all about it here.

Be warned that you will have to have some major gigs, make him use a headset (with microphone) and expect him to worry about the crumbling of his homestead.

If he likes to smell pretty…

I chose Dolce & Gabbana The One for my dear husband, because if he smells pretty, I am happy too. Little on the expensive side, but so worth it. View on Red Square.

A useful gift…

No guy should have a cheap wallet – seriously. Currently my husband is using a paper wallet that he bought because it is thinner than most wallets and it has held up quite well even after a year.

However, if ever he needs a new wallet – he will get a leather wallet made in South Africa. I have eyed the ones on Jinger Jack – check out their website.

If he is into music and gadgets…

The best speaker since the invention of speakers – and I’m not kidding. My hubby has the bigger version of this JBL speaker and it is a monster. It becomes a bigger monster when you put 2 in a room, because they act as 1 speaker and pump the music from your (bluetooth linked) phone. This JBL will break the bank.

If you are heading to the beach this holiday…

I know that most people don’t own a rash vest because they are so expensive, but it is awesome to help prevent sunburn. BTW if your man still uses a boogie board it will make the ride so much better.

That is it for this post – and until I can muster up some strength to do anything but exist until I can go to the beach.
