Browsing

Time is just flying by and the kids are growing faster than weeds. Plus here I am, trying to spend as much time as possible with them – and somehow fitting in the school things, work and play time.

Last year we reviewed some of the Zimpli Kids Goo which Lexa and her cousin loved. This time around we have new products. I love that Zimpli Kids’ products are a sensory “toy” and that it is environmentally-friendly.

The squeals of delight when they realise its playtime makes the clean-up worthwhile. Obviously both kids tried to eat it too…

Since my oldest is now learning responsibility, she gets to do it all.

  • Pouring the glittery (pre) goo into a bucket
  • Learning to pour the water slowly to not splash the “dust”
  • Mixing it all into a fun goo

Lessons to learn

  • Other small lessons they can learn is about density and liquid – what happens if I just hold it in my hand VS squeezing it
  • Name the colour of the goo
  • Describe the goo

Just some of the Zimpli Kids products

Have you heard about Dyme yet? I tried it out the other day…

Dyme is the one app you need if you are always on the go – but still need a pamper. You can book a massage, facial or lash extensions and even a hair chop. All you need to keep in mind is that you need to give at least 90 minutes for Dyme to make sure your professional therapist is available and voila!

I booked my appointment to fit into a very busy meeting and events schedule and chose a Swedish massage. My first therapist couldn’t make the appointment and Dyme immediately found an alternative therapist, Frank.

Did I mention you can choose between different levels of therapists when it comes to massages?

Normally I wouldn’t go to a man for a massage (other than my chiropractor) and when they said they have chosen Frank as my alternative I wanted to reschedule – but then I got busy and forgot. It was also the best mistake I made.

Frank arrived via Uber and he walked the flight of stairs with his table and bag. He quickly set up the space and I was kind of still thinking I should’ve rescheduled…

Turns out Frank is from Benin, in North Africa, and he was a practicing professional who specializes in fixing sports, neck and back issues. He is also amazing at just working back muscles.

So, I know you are asking if it is safe… Dyme has a few checks in place to ensure you stay safe and you can read more here: www.dyme.co.za/safety.

What are the fees?
The only fees you pay are for the treatments you book. There are no subscriptions or surprises.

I think the DYME app is a great idea and fills a niche – connecting people that are on the go with mobile beauty professionals when it fits into your schedule and where it suits you best, at home or even the office.

A cuddly bear, projector, music maker and nightlight all in one.

The Chicco First Dreams Baby Bear night light is probably one of our (my and Lexa’s) favourite items ever. It is the perfect little bear for her to cuddle with and even I love watching the stars against the ceiling with her.

Chicco First Dreams Baby Bear Night Light

Way back when we bought Lexa a nightlight, a turtle. She never paid any interest in it even if the turtle made the most beautiful starry display – all because she couldn’t hug a soft body. This Chicco Bear… now that piqued her interest.

What I like about the Chicco Baby Bear night light:

  1. The plush bear is super soft
  2. The starry display that changes colour
  3. Can wash it once the electronic box is removed
  4. Can switch the sound on or off
  5. Simple to use for kids

We’ve had the bear for over a month now and the bear is still going with no stitching coming loose, music and lights still working – and that is 2 washes later!

What I didn’t like about the Chicco Baby Bear night light:

  1. I struggled to get the electronic box back in place perfectly again so the button aligns to the hole. We just added an extra piece of fabric to push it in place and it’s good to go.

Information

  1. The bears are available in pink and blue and retails on Takealot for R599.
  2. The dimensions of the bear are 20.3 x 25 x 31 cm.
  3. It weighs 1.8kg!
  4. 30 minutes of melodies in the genres of classical, jazz, new age and nature sounds.
  5. Star projection with automatic colour change.

Note: We received the Chicco First Dreams Baby Bear to test and review. However the review is unpaid and my own opinion.
