So sad, my weekend in Ballito got canceled as my husband has a HIGHLY infectious virus. I even worked at home to take care of him on Friday, but by 11 Saturday I had cabin fever and again decided to go into the big wide world to find a pair of boots.

The search for a pair of boots has now stretched over 2 weeks. I cannot find a pair that doesn’t lace up, doesn’t pinch my foot, have no heels, gets to just below my knee and fits over my shapely calves. I loved a pair at Hush Puppies and really liked the idea of owning real leather…but alas, I could not zip it up.

Then in Cresta I stumbled upon 2 amazing stores – LOVISA and the Discount Outlet by Stuttafords. I went a bit ballistic at Lovisa and nailed the sale by scooping up almost a R1000 worth of silver jewellery (BARGAIN). Then I ventured into the discount outlet and was really surprised about the prices. The have marked down all clothing from Stuttafords from 25% to 60% and the labels include everything from French Connection to Gap.

I have been walking around feeling like an emotional basket case. I just can’t seem to reign in the tears that well up and finally started drinking something that will calm me down (prescription).

I don’t know which is worse – tears or not feeling anything.

It will be interesting to stay on my own for the first time in years as my husband is already on a work assignment near our holiday home. At least he made me dinners so I won’t starve! My cat will appreciate the alone time with me as my husband took the 2 small cats with.

I have really been struggling on getting the Chinese medicines down and keeping them down. I really feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume I have to ingest daily.

Am I making any sense today or am I rambling? It feels like my writing isn’t quite flowing.

Some Shopping

I also visited the FOREVER NEW outlet at World Wear last weekend. Prices definitely were lower than the Sandton Store. Obviously they don’t have the latest and greatest, but… when your budget isn’t that great it’ll do just fine.

What can be better than visiting one of your usual shops and finding an irresistible offer on Nine West handbags? I am now the proud owner of not 1, not 2, but 3 Nine West handbags!

The little fashionista in me wanted to have the round and cute bags, but the sensible side of me kicked in and chose 3 that will suit my professional image.

I will be spending my public holiday making space in my cupboards for my handbags 🙂

Bought at Brandsmania Woodmead Value Mart.

Spotted an advert in the Fourways Review for Deeghuys.co.za.

You can buy pre-made breads rolled into croissants, cone rolls and more… and bake it at home for that lovely fresh bread yummmmm

BTW – love LOVE love the name!

Sent via my BlackBerry from Vodacom – let your email find you!

Is it really better to shop in the city than a town?

Whenever I have visiting family I end up driving to the shops (especially factory shops) dotted around Johannesburg. Don’t get me wrong – I love hunting for bargains, but with 2 kids in tow…hell on earth!

I regularly use www.everything4less.co.za for some tips on where to go.

Anyway, have a great weekend!
